Second week
Well, the second week is ending and I think it has been a very positive one. We have learned a lot and the course has been so interesting. The most interesting thing here is that we are constructing our own knowledge, this is a really good example of collaborative learning, because the most enriching aspect of this interactive course is the discussion and sharing of opinions, ideas and experiences.
With respect to search engines, I have learned that apart from google, that is the most widely used by most of the participants, there are a lot of search engines that we can use according to our needs of information.Noodles is a great site with all those links. I've tried specially Sweet Search and ISeek, which are related to education and the quality and variety of information is excellent. Little by little I am going to try new ones to discover their possibilities.
The revision of writing objectives using the ABDC method has been also a good activity for we as teachers, because this is something that we have to do all the time and I think the success of an activity, task or lesson starts when you set a clear objective because this is the tool you have to measure your results.
The text about Bloom's taxonomy adapted to the use of technology is also very interesting, it's the first time that I read it and it's great because we can grade the clsss activities where we use technology according to our students level of cognition and skills. I think this is a very practical guide now that we are improving our web skills, for me is like a "north" to follow.
This is my inventory about our second week. I hope to share a lot more with you during the rest of the course.

First Week (a little late)
Getting started...
Well, unfortunately last week It was a crazy one for me and I couldn't spend so much time working on my webskills course tasks. But here I am, trying to catch up with everything.
I'm glad to see my virtual classmates are so devoted and intelligent teachers! This is a great community!
I have just looked at some of their blogs and they are so nice, so ellaborated! that I have noticed I have so much to learn. Undoubtely I'll have to spend a lot of time working on my blog's appeareance. But that is just one of the aspects, not the most important because what really matters is the content and I have read such interesting ideas and positions.
I am discovering very interesting tools in this course!
BLOGS
About blogging, for example, the best feature that blogs have is that they are an excellent way to keep in touch with our students every day, even though we don't have classes with them. This allows a greater contact with the English language (which is a big problem we have in our Latin American countries, where everybody speaks Spanish and the opportunities to listen and speak English in our everyday lives are very limited, unless you use the internet, of course)
Another interesting aspect about students blogging is that they have a real audience, an authentic reason to write and feed their blogs, not only for the teacher to read, but also for other students, their friends, etc. So, blogging becomes a "significant" activity in the learning process because there is not only an academic reason to do it.
