Second week

Well, the second week is ending and I think it has been a very positive one. We have learned a lot and the course has been so interesting. The most interesting thing here is that we are constructing our own knowledge, this is a really good example of collaborative learning, because the most enriching aspect of this interactive course is the discussion and sharing of opinions, ideas and experiences. With respect to search engines, I have learned that apart from google, that is the most widely used by most of the participants, there are a lot of search engines that we can use according to our needs of information.Noodles is a great site with all those links. I've tried specially Sweet Search and ISeek, which are related to education and the quality and variety of information is excellent. Little by little I am going to try new ones to discover their possibilities. The revision of writing objectives using the ABDC method has been also a good activity for we as teachers, because this is something that we have to do all the time and I think the success of an activity, task or lesson starts when you set a clear objective because this is the tool you have to measure your results. The text about Bloom's taxonomy adapted to the use of technology is also very interesting, it's the first time that I read it and it's great because we can grade the clsss activities where we use technology according to our students level of cognition and skills. I think this is a very practical guide now that we are improving our web skills, for me is like a "north" to follow. This is my inventory about our second week. I hope to share a lot more with you during the rest of the course.

  1. you can try to Create programs that provide on-going support. This is very important. Offering 2 hours of training is all well and good, but there must be on-going support to help them implement what they learn.

    take care...
