First Week (a little late)
Getting started...
Well, unfortunately last week It was a crazy one for me and I couldn't spend so much time working on my webskills course tasks. But here I am, trying to catch up with everything.
I'm glad to see my virtual classmates are so devoted and intelligent teachers! This is a great community!
I have just looked at some of their blogs and they are so nice, so ellaborated! that I have noticed I have so much to learn. Undoubtely I'll have to spend a lot of time working on my blog's appeareance. But that is just one of the aspects, not the most important because what really matters is the content and I have read such interesting ideas and positions.
I am discovering very interesting tools in this course!
BLOGS
About blogging, for example, the best feature that blogs have is that they are an excellent way to keep in touch with our students every day, even though we don't have classes with them. This allows a greater contact with the English language (which is a big problem we have in our Latin American countries, where everybody speaks Spanish and the opportunities to listen and speak English in our everyday lives are very limited, unless you use the internet, of course)
Another interesting aspect about students blogging is that they have a real audience, an authentic reason to write and feed their blogs, not only for the teacher to read, but also for other students, their friends, etc. So, blogging becomes a "significant" activity in the learning process because there is not only an academic reason to do it.
